Blue Dart launches a new state-of-the-art facility at Mumbai International Airport

BLUE DART has launched its new state-of-the-art aviation facility strategically located near Terminal 1 (domestic) at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai.

The facility measures 4300 square meters and is equipped with both, air and city side access, enabling the fast and efficient transfer of shipments, improving transit times and further strengthening Blue Dart’s market-leading service quality.

The new facility is equipped with dedicated ground handling with superior equipment, automation, state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced technologies to support handling of express shipments within the shortest time possible, in compliance with security and safety protocols.

Blue Dart Aviation (BDA), India’s first and only domestic cargo airline in operation for 23 years, has a dedicated fleet of six B757-200 freighters providing a capacity of 500 tonnes and 86 route connections each night. Mumbai is one of BDA’s major hubs with four flight departures connecting eight sectors on BDA’s air network. BDA has its own ground handling, security, and engineering capability and carries out its own heavy airframe maintenance with its professional and qualified manpower.

Blue Dart Aviation’s MIAL hub provides long-term, dedicated infrastructure for accelerating process and throughput of large volumes of express shipments from its fleet of aircraft, with enhanced city side access, to expedite vehicle movement and shipment deliveries, while providing excellent quality assurance for customers.
