Blue Dart Express is an 81 % subsidiary of DHL Express Singapore and is South Asia's No 1 integrated air express, courier and logistics company. It is the premier company in logistics services and air express cargo in India. Its sales and net profit grew a compound annual rate of 20.7% and 27.3%, respectively, during the past five fiscal years. Its operating margin (PBDIT) has been more than 15% in the past five years, which is on the higher side compared to other players engaged in the express distribution business.
The express distribution business is set to witness strong growth, given the expansion in the manufacturing and retail sectors. This bodes well for Blue Dart, as it has already built its brand in this segment over the years.
