Blue Dart spreading its wings, sets up new warehouse
Buoyed by a phenomenal rise in business volume, leading express courier and package distribution company Blue Dart has come up with a new and revamped facility here comprising a 1200 sq.ft. warehouse.
The centre will ensure better and exclusive space management to handle the increase in in load to and from the city. According to the company, the Bhubaneswar branch has seen a 117 percent growth in volume in just four years and a 87 percent increase in revenue, mostly due to industrialisation and mushrooming of educational institutes.
Vice-president (Eastern region) Amod Dasgupta expects that by 2015 they might be looking at expanding the size of the warehouse to about 30,000 to 35,000 sq.ft here. " The city has, in fact, been a significant contributor to Blue Dart Blue Dart's success in East," he told mediapersons on Thursday after inaugurating the new facility.
Stating that seven more warehouses would
come up in this part by 2010, Dasgupta underlined the new ground service from its stable called 'Surfaceline' will further help it to consolidate its market share in the State.
At present, it commands 40 percent of the courier business.
The new service will enable Blue Dart to reach out to over 2,400 locations in the East. Further, it will service 500 kg parcel to any pocket.
